Eight Point Someone

Hi,I want you to take a look at: ITBHUGlobal.org: The Chronicle: Eight Point Someone (by Praharsh Sharma, B.Tech. Part-III Electronics Engineering student) .I am a 6 pointer but really admire this post for honest and hilarious opinion on serious matter of grades.

I was deeply influenced by paragraph below taken from the given article. These lines are gospel truth for me and hope it will be same for you.

In the course of our four years at IT BHU, we engineering undergraduates should be proud of one thing to which I am sure, all of us agree unanimously. The ability that gets perhaps, best incorporated in us during these quadruple of years, is to manage anything (that is desperately needed) out of nothing, as and when required. We all manage to learn and exercise this well in due course of our time and efforts here. In the sort of situation we are made to live, the most beautiful part is undoubtedly that, this life teaches us how to keep our cool on, when we are right about to fall into the middle of nowhere but hell. This is only because, just when we are living on the last edge and are about to be busted, life subjects us to an experience where in, a pseudo helping hand just saves us from falling into the hell. Thus, when we are in any situation of almost death, we always assume that there would be a way out and this illogical confidence is the best thing, which engineering undergraduates learn to have during their four years. We here call it the engineering preamble, truly stated by someone –

We, the unwilling, lead by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much for so long, with so little knowledge that we will one day qualify to do anything with knowing nothing..."

Meaning of Sparsh

Often, I analyze various people arriving on my blog searching for the Meaning of Sparsh (by FEEDJIT). They were getting link of my blog for meaning of the word 'Sparsh'. I have named my blog 'Sparsh' aka 'Touch'. This touch is often mistaken with Midas or golden word. I do not support that combination with blog's name.

Meaning of 'Sparsh' is Touch. It is inspired from article below:

These lines are taken from the introduction of book "Smaran ko pathey banane do" by "Vishnukant Shastri". Sparsh is the touch (motivation) of that chetan (consciousness) for sensitive exchange of emotions. Hoping that my point is taken crystal clear by reader. Also Check, not original review of a movie 'Sparsh'.

13 Movies I will see again before I die

13 is very suspected number in the common masses. Hence, I prefer to choose 13 against mainstream choice. I am great movie viewer from my childhood by watching "The Adventures of Milo and Otis" on DD but real dream of watching mainstream and foreign language gems were fulfilled in my graduation years. I had started from scratch i.e. "The Mummy" on HBO to zenith i.e. "Pather Panchali" on PC. I present here list of 13 feel good films before you.

Golmaal
Truman Show
Dead Poet's Society
Malena
Groundhog Day
Spirited Away
Cinema Paradiso
Stand by Me
Lage Raho Munna Bhai
Khosla ka Ghosla!
Ferris Bueller's Day off
The Good, the bad and the Ugly
Kung Fu Panda ;

They are 13 movies to watch again before I die. I have already watch each of them atleast 20 times or more. They are the movies touching to the heart, not of being brain only. Films are not all about playing with light and shade and creating conflict between characters or depicting twisted and unpredictable stories. It is not bloody science but mere combination of art and technology. Technology is just medium of presenting idea but viewers/audience will always be affected by the raw emotions only. In short, I love these movies not due to technology and end result but due to their inspiring and refreshing nature. They contain unfiltered raw emotion affecting me deeply in some uncorrupted part of soul. They remind me that we are more than a speck of sand in the universe.

Pre-KASHIYATRA 2005

KASHIYATRA 2005

KASHIYATRA, our annual All India Cultural Festival is back in all its glory and fervor. This academic session it has been planned for February, 2005 (tentative dates: 24-27). CROSSWINDZ, the Rock Fest will also be held as a part of KY, as done last year.

The team of KY 2005

Convener:
Abhishek Agarwal (IV Mining)

Co-conveners:
K. Arvind (IV Ceramics)
Saurabh Lahiri (IV Civil)
Yashvir Chauhan (IV Chemical)

It was summarized news of the KashiYatra-2005 in the new ITBHU chronicle (e-magazine).Then, internet was not available in the hostels. Most of us 1st yearites did not go to internet café for surfing. So we missed the official news.'Jhankaar' was only pre- preparation before KY.

I do not remember the date but there was a movie show [by projector] in G-11.It was hosted by seniors to gather crowd from hostels.Movie ‘Final Destination’ was shown to us by KY team. Then, they give a brief for coming annual cultural festival “KashiYatra” .

I will now extracting the lines from my personal diary of that days.More information is added to give whole account of KY-2005.

KashiYatra-1st Day (24/02/2005)

I have enrolled myself with KY team as volunteer in event management.I was lucky enough not to enroll in security management. My batchmate Govind Jalan enrolled into it and was standing on the gate of Swatantrata Bhavan (SB). 2nd half of classes were off by short notice from director. I was involved in decoration and various team registration at help desk inside SB. I was helping in putting banners on SB main gate, entrance and in hall. DD bhaiya was managing the volunteers. My room mate AGP was with me. I quoted in my diary-

“There is lot of heated discussion between us like each day. It feels like head on collision on each topic with his counter-views. I do not know problem of that person. When I do not work, he has problems with me; when I deliver the job, he has got bigger objections. I have different style of work than him but is ok man…”

The condition of volunteers was such that we were remembering the name of event coordinators. Such was our preparation for organizing event. People were claiming last year KY (2004) was very good.We have now given responsibility to at lesat maintain that standard.

New director of our institute, SNU came exactly at 4:30 P.M. on the time of inaugral function. At 5:00 P.M. inaugural function started in G-11 due to typical delays by timeless ITBHU, Varanasi. He became angry due to delay in starting. So, our ‘esteemed’ director addressed partially fulled hall in English. It was more about Indian culture and Varanasi than of the cultural festival. The chief guest (do not remember his name) gives speech in Hindi. Then, our director reliazes his iconic fault and lectured again but in Hindi (the mother tongue). Heck, the drama was over soon.

Kavi Sammelan was awesome. I was inside SB with my volunteer card on the name of event management. Inside, I was just capturing seats for my friends only. It was mine first live interaction with poetic event. There was a Sardarjee from Punjab. He was a teacher and I find him most entertaining. I do not even remember the name of rest poets. It was over till midnight.

KashiYatra-2nd Day (25/02/2005)

I woke up at 10:00 AM.Upendra bhaiya and Sonam bhaiya (Mech 2007 batch) came at our hostels for pushing us to SB. The whole day was spent on the help desk.Sushant, Chandu, Mishra, AGP and gaffar were with me. Lot of registration of participant was going on, hence was quite busy. I was just able to watch few dance shows by various teams.I also motivated AGP for participating in Mr and Miss KY event( Original name is not in memory). There was a girl from NIT Allahabad participating in KY. I chatted with her for ½ hour. Then got warning from Chandan Sharma (Mech 2007: Just senior batch) to leave that girl or be ready for consequences. Fashion was also organized. Just got the glimpse of it. I also enjoyed night at the DJ. It was organized in front of G9. 1-2 hour of our fusion dance with hands and legs shaking in each direction makes me laugh today....

KashiYatra 2005-3rd Day (26/02/2005)

Indian Ocean captured my soul (official website)..........
This day was fill with artistic events. I watched theater with Abdul Gaffar and really praises ITBHU team for their effort. Most of the guys in theater were from Meta branch. I do not recollect any more memories of that day. I walk down to G-11 for watching some event. I come to hostel in evening for change. Then I walk down to open space beside SB for next event. It was Rock show by Indian Ocean music band. It was told to me as a legend that they have performed here in 97 and gained huge popularity afterward. Still most of us were unknown to this band potential and music. First, local and visiting rock teams performed, it appears boring to me.Only a crowd of 20-30 people was there to encourage them. Then, comes the band of fusion music.

There was crowd of 50 people in start to watch them. Then the performance began. It was one of the most entertaining night of life.Kandisa, Hille re, Jhini and Bande were mesmerizing. Some times, I do not even understand the lyrics of the song but music was driving me to another realm. With 5 m away from such a music band with free spirit. They performed like auteur without any hypocrisy around them. I have never feel the power of music before that night. It was folk+Sufi+rock fused in music of love.

KashiYatra 2005-4th Day (27/02/2005)

PS:Above photos are of bad quality

Euphoria was coming[Official site]. It was the last day of the event.I rested whole day in my room. Surya snatched my blanket in morning and captured my sensitive pose in camera.I do not have done shave for 1 week and feel very exhausting after 3 days.I do not attend any event that day.I take a shower in evening and become ready to attend Euphoria show.I got the front row with my event management card (jugaad). It was heavily crowded show and got tussled up with huge push from crowd. The barricades were down after few minutes.1000-1500 junta was attending the fusion nite. Our few batch mate attending Techkriti 2005 came back and party becomes rocking...

I have taken few snaps of the event with my prehistoric camera.Digital camera was not even available in our branch then. Summer of 69 was first English song in live concert for me. The show was very good and music flows through our veins.Performing euphoria in our background of college was like dream coming to true. This KY was best in my 4 year span in ITBHU. Really, those were my best days of my life.Last but not least, the official report was published in ITBHU reverberation magazine.

“The annual cultural fiesta of IT-BHU, organized by IT Gymkhana, KashiYatra 05, was held from 24-27th February 2005 at various indoor and outdoor venues in IT-BHU. 17 outstation teams with 288 participants competed with IT-BHU students for excellence in more than 35 different events of art, culture and frolic. The professional performances included a Rock Show by Indian Ocean, a Fusion Nite by Euphoria and a Hindi Kavi Sammelan comprising of seven state and national level poets.”

Talk with Puneet Jain

10/03/06
Immortalism cannot be attained with the help of destructible(mortal) ways.
The true meaning of art is to search for truth with false symbols.
We assume that truth is perfect for each individual at each time and space.
The curiosity for discovering the truth is never ending chase.

Warzone Mumbai

After Black Friday, 26/11 turns to be Black Wednesday for whole India. The Mumbai has been struck by the terrorist attack. CST, Nariman House, Taj Hotel and Trident (Oberoi) hotel were prime targets of this attacks.59 Hours of operation with over 182 death and 327 injured people. Jewish people were targeted in India and Israel declares that it is a clear attack on Israel. That's the spirit of real nation...

This is the time to stand together and end the terror regime. Enough is enough; this blood shed of innocent must be stopped. It is a national cause above all mutual difference between political or regional differences. Dirty politics by each party must be punished by people in election. Shivraj Patil was an impotent home minister appointed by Sonia Gandhi on the pure basis of favoritism. Ridiculous talking of home ministry after every bomb blasts has shown nation absurdity of the comments. With this line written, the news of bomb blast in Assam is flashing on news channel. Also, V S Achuthanandan(CPI) has really made cheap comments about martyr family at this time of National crisis.

We care more about distorted image of India projected in USA or UK. We are more worried about external support than internal unity of this country. There is enough proof of Pakistan hand. This fidayen style of training and planning at POK is worth shocking. The diplomatic and internal security efforts must be made with rapid pace (before election).

Currently, we need a strict federal law to deal with this kind of proxy war. The federal agency is needed to coordinate various intelligence and security measures. Either we can laid back to old attitude or help families of victims and brave cops. The terrorist said anonymous mail forging themselves under name of Deccan Mujaheeden. No negotiation policy with the terrorist is best suited for India now. The security forces must be backed with modern ammunition and rifles.

1-Formation of Federal Agency.
2-Reamendment of security acts and laws.
3-Police reforms implementation.
4-Use of CCTV camera at sensitive places.
5-Curbing the economic resource of Terrorist (Join F.A.T.F.)

Feel the backbone invertebrate political leaders .Do not disgust nation with vote bank politics !!!
A nation becomes weak first from inside and attack is done afterward from external enemies. NSG, Marine Commandos, ATS and Mumbai cops make a team effort to save life of so many people. GRP at CST or hotel staff also did tremendous job in the hour of terrorist attack. Salute to them.

Regional Cinema in India

India is a large country where many languages are spoken. According to the 1991 Census of India there are about 10,400 'raw mother tongues' in India. If closely related and mutually comprehensible dialects are grouped, the number can be reduced to 114 main languages. These 114 languages are the ones surveyed in the Indian census. Indian film producers have made films in thirty of the largest languages. However, only the very largest language groups support major regional industries. These are: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Odiya & Malayalam. Official statistics categories Indian films according to the languages in which they are distributed.

Masala movies are made both in regional and Bollywood film industry. But regional films constitute of high percentage in parallel cinema. The regional cinema, obviously in majority formed the alternate cinema. Ever since the decline of regional cinema throughout the nation, and the dying out of the parallel movement, the viewers have been feed with repeated image, sound and music. Indians do not watch movies made in other part of India itself but able to watch latest flick of Hollywood. Why?

Firstly, I personally don’t think language should pose a problem but it does, not a lot of work has been done when it comes to movies. Frankly people need to get over this as subtitling as an art has really developed. Still people are irritated & afraid at the though of reading subtitles. If we can watch Japanese, Chinese and Iranian films with subtitles, we can watch home productions too. If subtitles are available there is no issue in watching good regional films. Subtitles are not easily available for any films and it’s not easy for everyone to get access to any foreign or regional films through P2P or torrent client.

Secondly, film education is nonexistent in India. If we were to educate people in films studies Bollywood masala films might just be a subject of history. I believe that a lot of good regional films are not of excellent production (technical) quality like Hollywood or Bollywood. That is also where they score less... but unless regional filmmakers find financial backing, it is very difficult for them to produce good production quality.

Lastly Media has glorified Hollywood and Bollywood. Regional films are not given so much coverage in the media slots. The marketing and distribution system is under developed. The major problem is being lack of availability not due to the fact that such movies don’t exist but because they are not marketed properly.

Indian Cinema is thriving today thanks to an audience who is hungry for films, however, our works have degraded over the years, and regional cinema and few great filmmakers are marginalized to the film festival or art house circuits. Most of us had used to watch regional films on DD on Sundays. With the advent of cable and dish culture, the regional cinema has suffered huge setback. There is no information either in the print or electronic media about regional films.

Language Barrier:

Language controversy has nothing to do with the topic which is primarily a problem of socio-economic & cultural conditioning in which media is responsible to a great extent. Regardless of the language, a film is a film and must be regarded as a work of art. Some films are language less, soundless but are classics. The point is only this that statistics cannot determine quality of a film and regardless of how many people speak a language, a language is a means of communication and nobody can decide on a superior and inferior language.

A good movie is a good movie whether it’s being made in Hindi or Tamil or other foreign languages. But many talented directors like Hriskesh mukherjee, Basu chatterjee, Shyam benegal made many films in Hindi the reason being that it reaches over to larger audience. Many good directors make movies in Hindi or English irrespective of their mother tongues. Even legendary Satyajit ray made a film 'satranj ke khiladi' in Hindi.

I am saying Hindi is just like any other language and is grammatically similar to all devnagiri languages. The point here being that when someone puts his efforts in making a film it’s quite logical he expects it to reach more audience. I'm not getting into this language debate.Back to movies!!!

Obsession with Bollywood/Hollywood(Studied from above Link)
"Our bureaucracy and the ruling class (irrespective of political affiliations) are mesmerized by the glamor and dazzle of Bollywood, quite ignorant of the fact that it is the strength regional cinema primarily that the true picture /reality our vast country is reflected or represented. No doubt I.F.F.I. was shifted from New Delhi to Goa to create a carnival atmosphere on the lines of Cannes film festival oblivion of the fact that evolution, nature & utility of the two are entirely different. Besides after 200 years of domination by the Anglo-Saxons culture we still in our subconscious mind feel whatever comes from foreign/ Hollywood is superior(though technologically they are, yet cinema is not only about technology). "

Even Satyajit Ray’s "Pather Panchali" was appreciated only after it got recognition from abroad. A new and independent thinking pattern is needed with clever marketing strategy for upheavel of regional films. There is huge growth in overseas market of indian films. It provides basic investment needed for people working in regional film industry to move to other regions. Now, the good point is mobility and exchange of technical crews and artist with different regional background. There is a great deal of mobility between the regional industries. Many workers in other regional industries, once their talent and popularity is established, move on to work in other film industries, nationally as well as internationally.

In end, simply it’s just that not a lot of smart people have invested themselves in this marketing and commercial aspect of film industry.

Quotable Quote

"Salim-Javed never went to a screenwriting school but still ended up becoming a screenwriting school for all of us. Too much education can kill a perfectly smart brain forever. But it's desirable in terms of craft, in basic things like creative writing classes in every university which most people in the west take for granted.

We spend our childhood dreading our Physics-Chemistry-Math scores and hundreds of entrance exams instead, which is a pity for those who are not so inclined.

It's strange, I always say I never went to a film school, I went to Jungle instead-and recently Anurag told me the same thing-that he never went to a film school, he went to Satya instead".

- Jaideep Sahni, in an interview to India FM

Blog :Creative Writing

A blog is a medium which can and does foster creativity and original writing on burning topics and bring up concrete reality completely ignored by the mainstream press. It can also be used for providing information and inspiration about career {in IITs & IIMs}. In my words a blog is a creative license in form of online journal, public diary or e-documentation of your thoughts.

You have to keep seeking and striving, learning and thriving. Reading and writing are in symbiosis with each other. Equating the writing of comments with writing a blog is misplaced but a potentially powerful idea. Its clever marketing, since the term 'blog' has come to stand for the unfettered expression of opinion. But blogging is not something that you do only as a reaction to what other people write! It is about being proactive than reactive.

The challenge is to hybrid creativity and commercialism. To achieve impact in terms of sales, or at least influence thinking / behavior is real goal of a writer. And never be creative for the sake of being creative, especially if it's for a 'creative' purpose or position. It takes extra time and attempt to come up with something creative and more sincere effort to become original. Or, wait for someone else to - and then promptly forward the mail to you!

Read Post by Steve Yegge and Post by Rashmi Bansal for good blogging.
PS: Dedicatd to Rashmi Bansal for her fundoo blog.

For Future Generation

The wishes of the children are never a factor when deciding their future, Even if the part of this creative little soul is dying everyday on that wooden bench, copying Q & A from the blackboard. Earlier the thought was that only civil services, doctors and engineers are suitable careers. Nowadays the trend is that only engineering +MBA degree combo is a sensible career. It can bring in the so called mega bucks. It is all for the welfare of the students. Never mind if the kids are battered by an uncompromising and ruthless system which robs them of any creativity they have had. Failure to get inside a top notch school is considered a family dishonor and enormous pressure brought on kids to achieve targets which they never really wanted to.

And yeah, this is motivational bullshit but you know what, the idea that an entrance exam or two at age 17 can make or break your future is horse manure. Use it - to fertilize your imagination!

Take a bit of a creative leap in your Life!!!
College is just a platform to move in a particular field. Use this time for recreation and climbing on the learning curve. The one-dimensional growth in grades can be good with academics but for long term benefits curricular activities must be done. One time failure cannot stop anyone from climbing the ladders of success.

Whether you join the ‘ultimate’ branch or merely the ‘ultimate’ college after beating neck to neck competition…
Whether you got your dream job on first attempt…
Whether you marry the girl of your dreams or the one your family dreamt of...
All that matters in the long run is how true you were to yourself.

As Oscar Wilde once said,"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry…"
Honest Advice: Find yourself. Be yourself. Love yourself. Everything else will fall into place.

Software Industry and Engineers

Engineers have always had to endure the "nerd" label, but some catchy phrase might change that image. RHDTM was such incident to me. A dialogue was delivered-“Mechanical Engineer mein fire hone chahiye”. Then in next scene,R. Madhavan ignites a lighter for smoking cigarettes. That snap makes engineering a cool career to me in school days.

I decided in 1s year two things: To get a software job and to excel in any field except academics. I completed this resolution successfully.

Apart from my story, the creation of over 250,000 white collar jobs is something to celebrate. For the first time in recent Indian history, the 'ordinary' graduate is in demand. If it took outsourcing to create this demand - so be it. But remember software industry is not about creating new things. Its all about client giving you work. Work that their IT team is NOT interested in doing.

Well, here’s the deal. Practically every engineer – and not just from IIT but the top 200 colleges in India – can become a software engineer in a TCS, Wipro or Infosys. Regardless of what branch of engineering we study, you can get into them.
But, there is an elite corps which is recruited by global corporations for R & D jobs. And these are the jobs that even IITians die for: To work for a Google, Microsoft, Adobe or Yahoo on new and emerging technologies. To be part of a team creating new products and not merely fixing, maintaining or coding.

But if you’re the square peg who fits their round hole, more power to you!!!
I always remember this line:"Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day, filling out useless forms and listening to eight different bosses drone on about about mission statements."(ref)

My First Attempt For Scriptwriting

Notice: I will kill the guy who will plagiarize this creation. I am damn serious.

Walking Diary

1st scene

Two Boys:One wearing che guevera t-shirt

1st guy: You are wearing a T shirt with image of Che on it!!!

2nd guy: who the heck is he in this world? I absolutely have no clue about this man except that it looks cool.

1st guy: People should be banned from wearing ‘Ernesto Che Guevara’ t-shirts who absolutely have no clue about the man and his sacrifice.

2nd guy: Did he was an important American rock star or soccer player….

1st guy: Never mind about that stuff, lets go; Guru (3rd guy) must be waiting….

2nd scene

A beautiful girl on side ways and both boys on walk

1st guy: What a beauty!!!!

1st guy: Hey, you noticed that chic. She is hot…

2nd guy: Do you only see the beauty of girls in this whole world? There is hunger, poverty and unemployment around you…

2nd guy: I got sometimes mad by these sites. People walk with the ignorance and cold heart. I hate viewing those stony eyes.

1st guy: (Giving Lal Salaam to2nd guy) Are you frustrated or someone rebuked you in the front of beloved one?

1st guy: Be practical in life.

1st guy: Go to China and Russia, see the oppression of people. Fussing about communism in this lighter mode! Hey relax, man...

1st guy: (whispering) you cannot talk so loud in those countries…

1st guy: You have really damned my mood. I am just priest of beauty like Keats...

2nd guy: You bastard comparing yourself with Keats. I will die with laugh. Such an exaggeration!

1st guy: Move fast, long road is ahead of you

(Both of them sigh at the long and unending road)

3rd scene

In front of temple or religious place

2nd guy: (hailing in front of temple) really marx was correct. The religion is opium for masses…

1st guy: Not in India my friend, only cricket and bollywood are unofficial religion…..

4th scene

View of a dead man (corpse)

1st guy: I hate seeing corpses on the road. It gives me a draconic feeling.

2nd guy: Man, you live in India; A place with 110 crore population. People born and die here on streets. Listen...

2nd guy: Life, disease, and death have always been more visible in India than in another country of west. Children play cricket on the road; shirtless elders chat sitting on the front deck of their houses. Everyone is free to piss on the road. Death is a visible event. You talk like a tourist from west.

1st guy: It is not originally your words.

2nd guy: Just lifted from a blog. It was good lines so just delivering dialogue as a hero of parallel cinema.

(Laugh with deep sense of respect of each other)

1st guy: Hey, I am fultoo Indian from heart. Do no inspect my foreign brand T-shirt. Do you really have met any foreigner in whole life except Bangladeshis and Nepalese?

2nd guy: Nope. I find them disgusting. They are just bunch of escapists - floating through life on the strength of a favorable exchange rate.

1st guy: But my heart feels otherwise. They all could just as well be lying on a beach in Goa sipping tequilas. But they are here in spiritual places on some kind of personal quest.

2nd guy: (urging voice) Correction needed here. They are traveling at religious places not spiritual.

1st guy: (Hands and head bowed) ‘mai baap sarkar’.I am just a simple “aam aadmi”. I have pinned down a hornets nest. Do not open the pain and sufferings of artistic cinema in front of me. I am seeing enough art in life. Let me emphasis on mine entertainment while you work on society development.

5th scene

(Two guys and Guru in open place near tea stall)

Guru: Welcome ‘Changu’ and ‘Mangu’. You seem to remind me of contrast characters in life. One walking left in theology and other right wing activist.

Guru: Take a sip of this royal tea and enjoy the beauty of nature. Transitory world add charms to this dusk.

2nd guy: Sun rise and Sunset are optical illusions. The earth revolves…..

1st Guy: life is simple time span to express you. Why to waste a beautiful scene with scientific views. Just have a belief in what you observe with open heart.

Guru: Life is not about facts or fiction or about right or wrong. Roles of person are interchanged in his short cinema of life.

Guru: Life is full of paradoxes and mysteries. I do not waste my breath in decoding these puzzles of philosophy. There are certain times in our life when world appear to be nostalgic, insomniac and full of chaos. Identity crisis surrounds you. The world is nothing but mirror of desires and work of all people. Everyone wants to change the world from his point of view. Then, why so serious....

Guru: (Lighting a cigarette & smoking in space): To green world.…

1st guy & 2nd guy: (Cheering tea kulhads): To world peace (A serious laugh)

The End

I ink,therfore i am.

Who am I?
May be a tramp, vagabond, bohemian, stranger, amigo, nameless traveler, stalker, pauper or faceless identity in a lost world.

I am sure that I am not an artist of abstract and reflective thinking.

Then, Who am I?
I ink, therefore I am but really there is no purpose in asking question to the abyss called as soul.

I write this blog for expressing my feeling and inspire others.

Quotes for Cinema

Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world..
All you need for a movie is a gun and a girl..
Photography is truth. Cinema is truth twenty-four times per second.
--Jean-Luc Godard

One man writes a novel. One man writes a symphony. It is essential that one man make a film.

Mantra of Life

I have taken this heading of the post from the song ‘what is the mantra of your life’ of the Euphoria Band. It helped me in my journey within.

I am currently involved in the concept known as 'Gap Year'. I am not actually taking one year gap for leisure time. I postponed my joining at CSC to November for giving time to my family before muddling up in corporate world. The introspection and self evaluation comes in this part of time. I am lucky enough to be free from any urgent financial woes by my family. Most of the time is dedicated to introspection and reading books or blogs. The self evaluation time will really help me in attaining long term goals.

I looked back and analyzed both my personal and professional life. My colleagues are coining this time of mine as uneconomic and wasteful phase of my life. The success is seen in very short future context and comparison with others is made often. I do not use this time for touring or part time jobs. The adventure part was of least importance to me. I was learning new and diverse things in mine graduation years although there were fall in grades due to negligence in academics. I feel like collector of the data bank during last 4 years of engineering. There was no synthesis of data in my mind. I give emphasis on my spirituality, philosophy, cinema and books in this period of time. I am walking on less traveled road but like each great tree, life is a plant of slow growth. I really believed in this mantra of life :  Instead of a linear life path, it was like adding a little zig to your zag.

Five point for everyone (Results of Introspection):

1-Saral bano, Sugam aur sadharan nahi (Be simple, not ordinary and effortless in practice).
2- Hum sab adhitiya pehle hain, asaadharan baad mein ( We are unique first then extraordinary.)
3-Aaveg gyan kaa lakshan hai aur anubhuti shaashwat hai (Sprinting of innovative Ideas is the symptom of genius but sensation is eternal)
4-Budhi saager ke laher ke samaan hai, chanchal aur satahi ,par anubhuti samudra tal ke samaan, shaant aur neestabdh (Direct Perception or Intuition has more far reaching effect than logic and reasoning.)
5- Prabhad aur Purusharth sath sath chalte hain (Luck and Hard work goes hand in hand.)

Last word on these ethical lessons which I sense these days was: You pay for your deeds.
I get my mantra of life AND YOU?

Superheroes of Indian Films

Rajnikant, Mithun Chakraborthy, Mohanlal, Mammoty, Kamal Hassan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan & Chiranjeevi are the prominent superstars of Indian film industry.

First two names are the phenomenon in Indian film industry. They are not even stars of Indian movie industry. Rest of all names in the list is of superstars. But anyone do have clue over superstar and phenomenon. Phenomenon has cast charm over the people without any acting. They are worshiped by the people due to their iconic presence and style on the screen.

Most of the people do not have clue that ‘Mithun da’ has won national award for his acting in prestigious art film 'Mrigayaa'. Now, the commercial movies have made brand image of ‘Mithun da’. Masses know him for his hit films like Disco Dancer, Boxer and Dalal. Most of young people feel his presence in epic roles in Gunda, Loha, Cheetah & Ravanraj. He is virtually style icon of youths coming from down trodden society in north India from past 25 years. For die hard fans of mithun da, read this website.

Rajnikant’ is name of living style to each filmi geek of India. His special technique of igniting cigarette becomes a fashion in his fans. Now, cigarettes are changed by Chewing gums due to dangerous following of successors in public smoking. He is second highest paid actor after Jackie Chan in Asia. He is living legend in every sense.

From past 30 years, both of them are ruling the hearts of Indian people. They have got exclusively fan club and temples dedicated to them. The fight scenes in their movies can make envious to comic super heroes. Law of nature (even gravity) cannot bind their action sequence. Their external beauty and style has attracted heroines from last 3 generation. Also, their action scenes are synchronized with each other in different movies. They are the binding forces of north and south India. Least exaggeration sentence: They are pole stars (2 in same constellation) of great India reel life…………

I was looking for the reason of the rise of these phenomenons. ‘Mithun da’ hails from Bengal and ‘Rajnikant’ start off his career in Tamil movie industry. Tamil and Bengali societies are one of the leading societies in term of reformation with English education. People with western way of thinking forms a small but influential intellectual part in the society. There is no entertainment for common masses. These two rise on such occasion and becomes the role models by their screen roles of rebel hero. They stand against the local mafia, corrupt policemen, greedy merchant and shrewd politician. The violence and struggle life of ‘mean streets’ match the attitude of ‘Rambo’ in the background. They rise as a voice of family, community and society in reel life.

These two mortal gods have been face of India mostly go unnoticed or undisclosed in intellectual society. They are role models for masses. Despite of all these nonsense stuff, just do not forget about real heroes of children: Krish or Mr. India (Big Screen) and Shaktimaan (T.V. Screen)………………………………

Movies for Teachers

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. ~William Arthur Ward

Teacher inspires you to think for yourself. He is friend, philosopher and guide for learning minds. Teachers sometimes need to be reminded about why they teach in the first place. Teachers face stiff test from student in the depth of their knowledge. Shallow people hide in the veils of seriousness while sincere one rules the heart of student.

There are movies which transform your attitude for teaching profession. However, there is a career lesson in films. It doesn't lie in the film, though through viewing. The lesson is: Look beyond MBA, Engineering, Medical and Journalism. Any career you choose today, you can make a difference.

Many movies depict determined teachers using innovative teaching tactics according to need of student. They break the continuum of boring lectures into interactive sessions. One of the best known innovators is Anne Sullivan who persisted in teaching Helen Keller in the movie 'The Miracle Worker'. Anne Sullivan had high expectations for Helen Keller and helped her realize her incredible potential. Film 'Black' is scene by scene lifted from this movie. One fun way for teachers and students to recharge is to watch movies about the real or reel life stories of inspiring teachers.

This is the list of top quality cinema for inspiration to young minds:

Dead Poet’s Society
Good will Hunting
Mona Lisa Smile
Entre les murs
Freedom Writers
To Sir with Love
Ron Clark Story
Finding Forrester
Ciao, Professore!
Half Nelson
Breakfast Club
Dangerous Minds
October Sky
Taare Zameen Par
Jagriti
Sparsh
Rockford
The Miracle Worker
Conrack
Stand and Deliver
The Emperor's Club
•Lean on Me
•Merry Andrews
•Educating Rita
•Mr. Holland's Opus
•Blackboard Jungle
•Good Morning, Miss Dove
•Born Yesterday

•Goodbye, Mr. Chips

Individual success will not be attained by migrating to a particular 'hot' industry, or by securing government jobs. Instead, Teacher inspire the students to realize on two questions: who they really are and work that they truly love. A teacher motivates students to build a new success path for themselves. Result of efforts of teacher will be distinct individuals unleashing a productive and innovative power in their field.

Power of Bhojpuri Language

This post is lifted, plagiarised, edited and compiled from post of the another blog.It is modified from X rated version to teenager suited version. It is confession and reincarnation of Bengali boy turning into fan of bhojpuri language.
Here is detaied account---

"I was a bong. A mach-bhath (fish-rice) ogling, ganguly-worshipping, east-bengal-supporting, dor-baa*a-muttering, pure, unadulterated, 100% quintessential made-in-calcutta bong. I knew only bong gaaalis (swears) and they were sweet, rhythmic , intellectually crafted, usually non-acidic with little or no reference to the women in your family.

And then suddenly one fine hot summer day, way back in the summers of 1998, everything changed. The bong gets introduced to the bhojpuri tongue. I had read Hansel and Gretel 10 summers ago, but it was then that i realized what the two misguided souls felt when they saw the cookie-&-chocolate-house. The bhojpuri tongue was a treasure chest. It was mind-bogglingly awesome. A normal polite conversation in bhojpuri would make you feel that your ass was being verbally whipped to hell and back. Forget the stupid, inane bong insults this was the real deal. The mother of all mother tongues. Who was the idiot who declared hindi to be our national language, if it was upto me it would have been good old bhojpuri. Imagine the advantages of that, 1/6th of the world's population speaking the way Lalu does. Man-o-man would not that be cool.

Wouldn't the usually uncool brown Indians with a funny accent be revered by those hot blond bombshells in those pubs and nightclubs. Forget the coolest of the cool jamaican accents, the bihari accent of bhojpuri is what those ever elusive blonds would fall for. How can they resist a pick-up line that goes :

" denkhiye (stress on the n) sandra babby hum kahe de raha hoo jyaada tem nahi na hai humre pas, nachiyega humre saath to boliye nahi to mandra humra waiting kar rahi hai oo baju me".

Bloody jamaicans with their oh-so-cool "hey maaaaaaaan" lines would have been decimated in seconds. And we blond-ogling brownies would rule the blond's-world with an iron rod, err no i mean acerbic tongue.

bhujla ki naa.. nahi bujhi.. arreee burbak ho kaa??"

Travelogue : Make my Trip

The world is conquered by the travelers. Voyage of Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, Vasco da gama has changed the course the history .The boundaries are for weak and xenophobic people. The brave wanders without borders. He always led mankind in the frontiers of each field. Nation or society is only misguided by self proclaimed intellectual rusting at a place. Every country falls in dump where inhabitants rest at a place. The world is conquered and ruled by the people who left the home to achieve something. The water of river may be polluted somewhere, but constant flow makes it clean. The water of well appear sweet for some days but become polluted with time. Traditions are always spread by the roaming ambassadors of the culture. Any person or society can only be prospered by coming in contact with each other.

Boundaries of India were extended to Cambodia, Malaysia & Indonesia. Then preachers of Hinduism decided to reside at home. Crossing to seven seas was losing the religion. Orthodoxy was absorbed due to this reason. Muslims, Portuguese, French and British attacked and plunged whole Indian subcontinent. They were travelers and defeated population was idler.

Spiritual Gurus like Swami Vivekananda, Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Shankaracharya were first class travelers. They conquered India with their foot and message. Means are secondary but enthusiasm to discover the frontiers is primary .Their biographies of great persons form the history. They are full of travel stories and contact with lost or undiscovered civilization or community. Preachers were foot soldiers of Buddhism, Islam and Christian; they traveled across the globe for their religion without any fear only with light of faith in their heart.

Africa, Australia and America were discovered by few enthusiastic people from Europe. Now India and China are fully packed with people. This is heaviest price for one place dwellers. Spanish, English, French and Portuguese had become international language of previous century. Jews are spread across the world. They were looted and tortured both by Muslims and Christian. The vagabonding of 2000 years makes them realize their ancient glory and need of reunification. Israel was formed in between the heartland of Arabian countries. All Arab nations came together to crush this small country but all of them are defeated in battles. Eminent position in American economic circle is occupied by Jews. Traveling is the international religion of mankind. Unlike religious preachers, Travelers share their experience and find happiness in travel account of others.

Half of world is in books and rest is spread across the globe. Hence, be dynamic as a traveler and static as a reader. Life will be balanced in middle path between dynamics and statics. Each scientist, artist and even mathematician has traveled in search of true knowledge or mentor.Art Tourism provide tours and travel facilities to provide knowledge about richness of art culture and artworks, styles, school existed in ancient India. Indian subcontinent is well diverse in each aspect of culture. Only Europe can match its diversity but not quality.

This post is dedicated to Rahul Sankrityayan for his inspiring book Ghumakkar Shastra. This book is first hand guide to young mind to unshackle the chains of home, friends and family. Be a perpetual free rider in this transitory world.

Novice Travel Guide

Che Guevara is the role model of many youths across the world. Everyone can feel the voice of Latin America in his thinking. A young man pursuing medical course was transformed into revolutionary by a travel. As a young medical student, Guevara traveled throughout Latin America and was transformed by the endemic poverty he witnessed. His experiences and observations during these trips led him to conclude that the region's ingrained economic inequalities were an intrinsic result of monopoly capitalism, neo-colonialism, and imperialism, with the only remedy being world revolution. He became the eminent face of communism in 20 century.
Now, compare yourself with him. You will be the person who has not traveled so far yet.But who am I to tell you to do these adventurous things. Simply NOBODY;Stop reading here if you will be stuck in same place after these lines OR just hear what I want to say.

I started reading novels with “Gulliver travels”,"Around the world in 80 days" and "Sindbad the sailor". 'Triyatri' and 'The Motorcycle Diaries' were inspiring movies for me.

Traveling without an open heart is the loss of time and labor. Make yourself free from previous life experiences and relations.Age is no bar to traveling but young time is preferred. When endurance and passion is high, Traveler can push through stones on the road to his personal milestones. Labyrinth of living and earning consumes your energy level with the age;

“Saer kar duniya ki gafil zindgani phir kahaan,Zindgani gar rahe to, Nazawani phir kahaan”
-Ismael Meeruti.

Think out of Box is nice proverb of English Literature. In Hindi literature, “Koop Manduk”: Frog of well is well defined terms for static people. When you stay for long period of time at anywhere, importance of yours is lost. Your observation skill vanishes due to adaption in monotonous condition. The sense of wonder is lost amid surrounding.Immense knowledge can be incorporated from visiting place. Dissolve in local culture and feel the joy. You will truly feel small and ego will be lost on discovering new world around you. This false egotism comes from ignorance. The more you know, you will become modest and wise.

You have not come this far just to applaud beauty of a building and city. Historical and traditional survey perspective is necessary for getting clear image of society and country.
First hand Tips for Travelers:

· Vagabondage is apart not wholesome of traveling. Read and listen (Observation skills) about the people and visiting places.
· Good Hotels, means of transport and food will not be in your service. Make yourself a rough rider.
· Cultural, Linguistic, geographical and wildlife diversity of the region gives a rough idea about the traveling path.
· Observe the nature. They give the feeling of eternity and transitoriness at same time.
· Not stones but contact with people is significant. Talk if you can to locals about their habitat.
· Traveler should neither hope for eternity nor for the fame. His main concern should be walk less traveled road.
· Lonely planet and Discovery travel and livings are best television shows about traveling.
· Do not wait for Travel grant or reimbursement in future.
· Maintain Travel Diary. It will refresh and inspire you and others in future.
· Last but not least, safety is primary concern. Prefer visiting public places and get your timing of tour synchronized with the local customs.

Each of the readers has lived enough life of Mr. Anderson (Matrix). Do not get the bundle of baggage ready in preparation for departure. Get, set and go neo;Currently, I want to read a book named:The Motorcycle Diaries by Che Guevara;Just read the lines from the book....

"The stars streaked the night sky with light in that little mountain town and the silence and the cold dematerialised the darkness. It was as if all solid substances were spirited away in the ethereal space around us, denying our individuality and submerging us, rigid, in the immense blackness."

Keep the Spark Alive - Chetan Bhagat, Symbiosis, Pune

Keep the Spark Alive

Inaugural Speech for the new batch at the Symbiosis BBA program, Pune 23rd June, 2008

Following is the speech by Chetan Bhagat given at the orientation programme for the new batch of MBA students at Symbiosis, Pune.

Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like, what would the teachers be like, who are my new classmates - there is so much to be curious about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today. Today I am going to talk about keeping the spark shining. Or to put it another way, how to be happy most, if not all the time.

Where do these sparks start? I think we are born with them. My 3-year old twin boys have a million sparks. A little Spiderman toy can make them jump on the bed. They get thrills from creaky swings in the park. A story from daddy gets them excited. They do a daily countdown for birthday party – several months in advance – just for the day they will cut their own birthday cake.

I see students like you, and I still see some sparks. But when I see older people, the spark is difficult to find. That means as we age, the spark fades. People whose spark has faded too much are dull, dejected, aimless and bitter. Remember Kareena in the first half of Jab We Met vs the second half? That is what happens when the spark is lost. So how to save the spark?

Imagine the spark to be a lamp’s flame. The first aspect is nurturing - to give your spark the fuel, continuously. The second is to guard against storms.

To nurture, always have goals. It is human nature to strive, improve and achieve full potential. In fact, that is success. It is what is possible for you. It isn’t any external measure - a certain cost to company pay package, a particular car or house.

Most of us are from middle class families. To us, having material landmarks is success and rightly so. When you have grown up where money constraints force everyday choices, financial freedom is a big achievement. But it isn’t the purpose of life. If that was the case, Mr. Ambani would not show up for work. Shah Rukh Khan would stay at home and not dance anymore. Steve Jobs won’t be working hard to make a better iPhone, as he sold Pixar for billions of dollars already. Why do they do it? What makes them come to work everyday? They do it because it makes them happy. They do it because it makes them feel alive Just getting better from current levels feels good. If you study hard, you can improve your rank. If you make an effort to interact with people, you will do better in interviews. If you practice, your cricket will get better. You may also know that you cannot become Tendulkar, yet. But you can get to the next level. Striving for that next level is important.

Nature designed with a random set of genes and circumstances in which we were born. To be happy, we have to accept it and make the most of nature’s design. Are you? Goals will help you do that. I must add, don’t just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

You must have read some quotes - Life is a tough race, it is a marathon or whatever. No, from what I have seen so far, life is one of those races in nursery school, where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One last thing about nurturing the spark - don’t take life seriously. One of my yoga teachers used to make students laugh during classes. One student asked him if these jokes would take away something from the yoga practice. The teacher said - don’t be serious, be sincere. This quote has defined my work ever since. Whether its my writing, my job, my relationships or any of my goals. I get thousands of opinions on my writing everyday. There is heaps of praise, there is intense criticism. If I take it all seriously, how will I write? Or rather, how will I live? Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? It’s ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

I’ve told you three things - reasonable goals, balance and not taking it too seriously that will nurture the spark. However, there are four storms in life that will threaten to completely put out the flame. These must be guarded against. These are disappointment, frustration, unfairness and loneliness of purpose.

Disappointment will come when your effort does not give you the expected return. If things don’t go as planned or if you face failure. Failure is extremely difficult to handle, but those that do come out stronger. What did this failure teach me? is the question you will need to ask. You will feel miserable. You will want to quit, like I wanted to when nine publishers rejected my first book. Some IITians kill themselves over low grades – how silly is that? But that is how much failure can hurt you. But it’s life. If challenges could always be overcome, they would cease to be a challenge. And remember - if you are failing at something, that means you are at your limit or potential. And that’s where you want to be.

Disappointment’ s cousin is Frustration, the second storm. Have you ever been frustrated? It happens when things are stuck. This is especially relevant in India. From traffic jams to getting that job you deserve, sometimes things take so long that you don’t know if you chose the right goal. After books, I set the goal of writing for Bollywood, as I thought they needed writers. I am called extremely lucky, but it took me five years to get close to a release. Frustration saps excitement, and turns your initial energy into something negative, making you a bitter person. How did I deal with it? A realistic assessment of the time involved – movies take a long time to make even though they are watched quickly, seeking a certain enjoyment in the process rather than the end result – at least I was learning how to write scripts, having a side plan – I had my third book to write and even something as simple as pleasurable distractions in your life - friends, food, travel can help you overcome it. Remember, nothing is to be taken seriously. Frustration is a sign somewhere, you took it too seriously.

Unfairness - this is hardest to deal with, but unfortunately that is how our country works. People with connections, rich dads, beautiful faces, pedigree find it easier to make it – not just in Bollywood, but everywhere. And sometimes it is just plain luck. There are so few opportunities in India, so many stars need to be aligned for you to make it happen. Merit and hard work is not always linked to achievement in the short term, but the long term correlation is high, and ultimately things do work out. But realize, there will be some people luckier than you. In fact, to have an opportunity to go to college and understand this speech in English means you are pretty damm lucky by Indian standards. Let’s be grateful for what we have and get the strength to accept what we don’t. I have so much love from my readers that other writers cannot even imagine it. However, I don’t get literary praise. It’s ok. I don’t look like Aishwarya Rai, but I have two boys who I think are more beautiful than her. It’s ok. Don’t let unfairness kill your spark.

Finally, the last point that can kill your spark is Isolation. As you grow older you will realize you are unique. When you are little, all kids want Ice cream and Spiderman. As you grow older to college, you still are a lot like your friends. But ten years later and you realize you are unique. What you want, what you believe in, what makes you feel, may be different from even the people closest to you. This can create conflict as your goals may not match with others. And you may drop some of them. Basketball captains in college invariably stop playing basketball by the time they have their second child. They give up something that meant so much to them. They do it for their family. But in doing that, the spark dies. Never, ever make that compromise. Love yourself first, and then others.

There you go. I’ve told you the four thunderstorms - disappointment, frustration, unfairness and isolation. You cannot avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark die.

I welcome you again to the most wonderful years of your life. If someone gave me the choice to go back in time, I will surely choose college. But I also hope that ten years later as well, your eyes will shine the same way as they do today. That you will Keep the Spark alive, not only through college, but through the next 2,500 weekends. And I hope not just you, but my whole country will keep that spark alive, as we really need it now more than any moment in history. And there is something cool about saying - I come from the land of a billion sparks.

Thank You.

Sign of Wise Person

"ज्ञानी निस्प्प्रेह होता है सबसे, किसे से प्रेम , घृणा

निर्लिप्त अनुभव केवल,वह शून्य है मानो धोंकनी के भीतर

खाली ,लेकिन लगातार देता फूँक, सत्य के अग्नि को

ज्ञानी का अनुभव है धोंकनी के साँस, शून्य में से उद्भूत सत्य की ऊर्जा"

Understanding Nature

Search for unknown is only goal of curious human mind. The inquiry to recognize phenomenon behind each process is part of human behavior from primitive times. The whole pursuit of science is to understand nature in a simple and single theory. Ultimate theory must be able to define each event of this nature and then universe clearly. Current science has taken mathematics as a base to understand the nature around us.

There is mutual relationship among each unit in the nature. Everyone is connected and interdependent on each other for his survival in nature. But each unit is diverse from each other and categorized in different species. Their population must be taken in account with considering the habitat. Currently, million of species plants and animals exist at present. This shows permutation and combination of millions of parameter interdependent on each other on mathematical scale.

Nectar of discussion lies in process not in details. This balance of nature is dynamic in nature. It is propelled in each plant and animal through evolution. Scientists try to explain forming of this complex system through chaos theory. Survival of life in the form of various organisms with the phases of extinction, adaptation and evolution seems to be lucky chance. From our current knowledge, it appears to be chance of very low probability than a well understood process.

Quotes To Son by Father

I was told by my father these two quotes in childhood days.I admire the point taken by these quotes:
लीक छोड के तीन चले ,शायर सिंह सपूत\
पूत कपूत तो का धन सांचे,पूत सपूत तो का धन सांचे\

Habit of reading Literature

"Despite being educated and brought up in a rational society, there are times when we fail to understand the difference between intelligence and wisdom! Perhaps it’s only when you observe and understand the world around you, do you realize that difference can be altered for increasing your pace of the learning curve. Observation too has its limitations! What you would ideally require is developing the reading habit. Perhaps because it’s the most natural habit to inculcate!"
The above lines from a blog inspired me to write the effect of literature and habit of reading in our daily life.

There is an epidemic with million of victims in our country. There are no visible symptoms of this problem. It’s an epidemic of people who can’t read. There is difference between literacy rate and true percentage of educated population. Those who can read and write few words are consider as literate in India. It is simple considered as education till class 5th grade. So the literacy rate is not predictable by governmental statistics.

Habit of reading removes the boredom and monotony of a humdrum life. It means us to realize a view point of another person. Currently, newspapers are most widespread and cheapest source of reading material. National income per person of India is Rs.1265 per year. It is quite low figure in comparison to rising prices of books. Still, it is not the major problem in Indian intellectuals. The literate and prosperous part of population does not want to invest money in good books but it willingly purchases show objects. This mentality must be changed by us. They are on the verge of becoming shallow & cynics. Cynic: The person who knows cost of everything but value of nothing. Oscar Wilde says that the supreme vice is Superficiality. Literature saves us from superficiality. It gives new depth and dimensions to human kind. Human personality can only be enriched by imaginative contact with other time, place and people.

Each invention of human kind is an extension of tools or time saving device. Books are extended version of thoughts. That’s make them special invention in human civilization. Cheap sensationalism is a monster in the realm of literature. Trash is produced in abundance in every decade but natural taste of healthiness of public taste lets it die. Literature enables us to experience the great truth that each man is all men. It teaches us the religion of humanity. Humanism is greater than any school of thoughts.

One of the ironies of human life has been that literary giants have envied men of action and men of action have envied with writers and poets. A class of probably mistaken and misguided people insists that Literature should bring immediate social and political change. In other word they want literature to become propaganda. They forget that literature works imperceptibility by becoming only one of factors and forces which re-mould life. Like each great tree, literature is a plant of slow growth. The secret of literature and literary creation is the sincerity of imagination. It is just the best way for expressing and feeling your emotion.

"Human’s mental, moral and spiritual evolution can only be achieved by spreading literature to the remotest corner."

Harmony with Nature

There are many sweet memories during my brief stay at Germany. One of it is worth mentioning here. I was sharing my house (not room :D) with a guy. His name was Christian Clauss. I was invited at his home for a day. His family was curious on meeting with a stranger from distant land. His home were located in the country side. His father, Alexander was a simple farmer and was native of East Germany. He knows German and Russian but not English. I was introduced to his mother, Sabine. I have quite long dialogue with her on various topics. There was feeling of happiness in the family. I could not resist the temptation of this secret. I asked for the reason of joy of living in the remote part far from city. On seeing my puzzled face, she replied “We should live in harmony with nature.” It was secret mantra of their life. I was amazed and a sense of respect for her view went deep down in my heart. Really, search of inner peace lies in the harmony with others.
